Sending in an Android Device?

If you are sending in an Android device it is important to sign out of your cloud accounts before shipping it. This includes your Google accounts, the manufacturers account (Samsung, Huawei etc) and any security features you have added such as FaceID, Fingerprint locks, PIN and pattern codes.

You dont need to delete your account, just remove it from the device you are sending in, as many providers now have security measures that require entry of your personal password after data wiping and resetting the device. Please remember to back up your data before removing the accounts from your device.

How to remove your Google Account:

1. Tab the Settings icon
2. Scroll down until you see a tab titled Accounts (and tap on it.
3. From the selection of accounts logged in on your phone, find your Google account and tap on it.
4. Under the email address your Google account has been created where you will find a Remove account button. Alternatively, this option can be located in the top right corner in a menu behind the three dots icon. Tap Remove account.
5. You will then be asked to enter your Google account password or draw your lock pattern for security reasons. Once you have confirmed your password, you’re done and the account has been removed.

How to remove your Samsung account:

1. Go to your Settings menu and tap on Accounts and backup tab which is further down on the menu.
2. Tap Accounts and you will be presented with a list of accounts your device is signed into.
3. Tap on your Samsung account and look for Personal info or the three dots icon on the right side of the screen and then click on it.
4. Tap on Remove account and get familiar with the information displayed, then tap on the Remove button on the bottom of the screen.
5. Provide your Samsung account password for security reasons and tap OK.

Removing your Huawei ID

1. Go to Settings and tap on your Huawei ID profile on top of the screen.
2. On the Account centre screen navigate to the bottom and tap Log out.
3. Get familiar with the detailed information about the log out and tap Log out again.
4. Enter your Huawei ID password to confirm the log out.
