About The Role:
We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented individual to join our team. Taking on a role within our warehouse and testing team, you will be responsible for managing IT hardware through the full recycling process and preparing equipment for sale. The main roles and responsibilities will include:
- Testing IT Equipment: Conduct thorough functional and cosmetic tests on a range of IT equipment
- Data Destruction: Process data-bearing assets in compliance with GDPR regulations by securely and irreversibly destroying sensitive data using approved data destruction methods and tools.
- Hardware Refurbishment: Perform basic refurbishment tasks, such as upgrading RAM, HDD, keyboards, and replacing faulty parts to restore equipment to optimal working condition.
- Operating System Installation: Install operating systems, including Windows, Linux and Mac OS to ready it for sale.
- Inventory Management: Record and maintain accurate data and inventory management records, documenting equipment details, refurbishment actions, and current status in our internal systems.
- Warehouse Management: Properly store equipment in the warehouse, ensuring it is organised and easily accessible. Update warehouse records to reflect changes in stock and location.
Ideal Requirements:
The preferred candidate will be someone with a good understansing of computer systems and have some indusrty knowledge, ideally experience working and restoring IT equipment;
- Good understanding of computer equipment and the ability to perform basic hardware upgrades and refurbishment.
- Proficiency in working with operating systems such as Windows, Linux, MacOS and iOS together with good knowledge of Microsoft Office.
- Familiarity with data destruction protocols and practices, including GDPR compliance is an advantage.
- Excellent attention to detail and organisational skills.
- Effective communication and record-keeping abilities.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Willingness to learn and adapt to new internal systems and data destruction software.
Salary: £21,000 - £25,000 a year, Full Time
